Donations to Chaeli Campaign Print E-mail
The Grade 8s under the guidance of Ms Petrie collected a huge amount of toiletries, toys and groceries as part of their Life Orientation project. These items were excitedly handed over to The Chaeli Campaign, who distributed them to their community workers in Masiphumelele and Lavender Hill.

Another charity which also benefited was Miracle Kidz Safe House, who acknowledged the gifts saying, “this thoughtfulness will truly make a difference in the lives of so many kiddies here at Miracle Kidz Safe House, as our primary mission is to provide a safe and loving home for abused, abandoned and neglected babies and toddlers”.

We are proud of our Grade 8s, for showing initiative and for getting behind this project with such enthusiasm.

We were especially pleased to invite David Millar, ex Principal of Norman Henshilwood and now WCED Director of Metro North, who addressed the learners with a motivational talk. The topic of his address being, “hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard” and “work hard in silence and let success make a noise.”
As well as having much to reflect upon, the learners also left with a certificate and an academic badge, presented by David Millar on behalf of the school.
