I was selected to represent the Western Cape School Softball Boys U/17 squad at a tournament in Durban in December.
It was a round-robin tournament and I was fortunate to have played in every one of our six matches. I held the position of centre outfielder and I did not drop a single catch. I hit one home run and all my batting turns were successful.
Due to inclement weather we could not compete in our final two matches and we were placed third in the tournament. Even though the weather dampened our spirits, my spirit sky rocketed when it was announced at the closing ceremony that I had been selected to represent SA School’s Softball Boys U/17 squad, as one of it’s ‘All Start; achievers.
