On 20-23 October 2011, Grade 8 learner Aziza Rawoot, travelled to Rustenburg to represent the Western Cape at the KSA (Karate South Africa) Champs of Champs Tournament 2011. At the tournament on Saturday 22nd she competed in the U45kg/13-14 division and won a gold medal for Kata and a silver medal for Kumite (fighting). |

Grade 8 learner Danielle Davids participated in the final round of the WP Judo trials last weekend. She came away with Gold medals in the U/44kg and U/48kg categories. She has now officially qualified to go through to the SA championships in June. Well done Danielle!

Rosanne Withey in Grade 8 has been selected to represent the Cape Seals U/15 Indoor Hockey team at the International Tournament to be held in Namibia in September. This includes teams from Boland, Namibia and Zimbabwe. The Cape Seals are Cape Town’s A team who have been selected from the participants at the Invitational Tournament run by PSI indoor hockey. Rosanne was also selected for the Western Province U/14 South Team which participated in the U/14 Zonal tournament held in Stellenbosch during the July school holidays. |

Grade 8 learner Logan van Niekerk was recently named South African Karate U/15 Champion.
Logan won 3 trophies and 2 Gold medals in the Kata and Kutma sections. Along with this he won Best overall cadet and best student of the day. |

Grade 8 learner Faeez Williams will be taking part in the KSI (Karate) World Championships in Portugal. He will be participating in the 12 to 13 age group representing South Africa. Faeez started karate at the age of 8. He recently obtained his provincial colors for karate in the Nationals which were held in Durban. |
