UCT have recently completed the awards for several Vice-Chancellor's Merit Scholarships to a number of new undergraduate students. Emily Vermeulen (BHS 2003 - 2008) was awarded this prestigious scholarship.The scholarships are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic achievements in the final NSC examinations and are awarded to ten students, registered at UCT in 2009, who performed best among their peers from schools under the auspices of the Western Cape Education Department.
