This is a dynamic society where pupils use their wit and skills in speaking competitions, forum discussions, individual speaking competitions and debates. Pupils are coached to improve their public speaking ability.
Debating forms the major part of this society and we take part in the annual Rotary Debates against other schools in the Western Cape .
Termly socials, interhouse competitions and other word games form an integral part of the society. Bergvliet has always had a very articulate and enthusiastic core of pupils who attain high standards in public speaking.
This is a society for young people who think laterally, have opinions and just enjoy talking. Both the shy and the outgoing learner benefits by acquiring public speaking skills.
