Bergvliet High School tops in Science and Maths-2005

Hot on the heels of the recent Science Fair held at the school, Bergvliet High has been recognised by the Western Cape Education Department for their contribution to the improvement of Science and Maths results in the province.

This award was given in acknowledgement of the excellent M & S Higher Grade results achieved by the matric class of 2004 and to encourage teachers and learners in their endeavours.

The award is of particular relevance, coming as it does a few days after the school showcased the work being done by their Science pupils, at a Science Fair held recently.

During the Fair, the Head of Department, Keith Warne, shared his vision with parents for the purchase of interactive whiteboards for the school. Now, together with donations from parents and the award, this dream can be realised.

“Just reward for all the hard work by staff and learners-I salute them all!” said a very happy Mr Warne.

The Maths department was no less pleased and there is now a race on to see who will get their new equipment first.
