2009 Matrics, Ashleigh de Wet and Leah Adams
Mr Stephen Price, Principal: “The matric class of Bergvliet High have once again delivered on the challenge and registered a 100% pass rate in the 2009 NSC. With over 200 learners registered to write these exams it was a mammoth effort by the staff and the learners themselves to achieve this. The number of learners who qualified to attend a university increased this year over the 2008 results. Another way in which the School is fulfilling its mission on delivering a world-class education. Caryn Hobbs was the shining star coming first in the grade with 6 A’s. Lucy Sturrock was another learner who achieved 6 A’s. We are very proud of them and they fully deserve the success. The result of the matric class is especially pleasing in that they achieved this despite the uncertainty surrounding the appointment of a new principal throughout the year. This is testament to the hard work of both the staff and the learners in keeping focused on the NSC exams. High expectations and a strong focus on the basics is what ensured another 100% pass rate. We wish our matrics continued success in the future”.
